Rox Meat Covid-19 Update

During this period of uncertainty, we have updated our terms & conditions slightly to help us deal with the demand and to ensure that we can continue to feed the nation. You can review these terms and conditions here.

We’ve scaled up our resource with a focus on hiring from the local community who are in need of work - we’ve hired over 20 people in the last 2 weeks (if they’ve been made redundant/own business which has closed).

We’ve upscaled our operation to 24 hours, 7 days a week.

We’ve moved from delivering 6 days a week to delivering 7 days per week.

We’ve revised our range to ensure we can scale up, and to help our suppliers deal with demand and forecast stock more effectively – this includes considering carcass balance so as we scale up, our waste remains negligible.

We’re supporting our employees with safe working conditions, working from home where possible & stopped all visits to our offices.

Is your packaging recyclable?

The box and wood wool are all fully recyclable. The ice pack outer liner can be recycled. However, it depends on your local authority as to whether they accept the Polystyrene boxes. Many of our customers have become quite creative with their boxes and have used them for many things including cool boxes, storage or planters. We are constantly reviewing our packaging as our business grows, to make it easier for our customers to recycle – a plastic-free future is what we’re aiming for. We’ll keep our customers updated as this develops.

Am I able to request a specific product size?

Rox Meat offers a bespoke cutting service. If there is something on our website that you like the look of but require a different weight to the one advertised or you have read or heard about, then please do get in touch with us and we will do our best to fulfil your requirement. A £10 butchery charge may apply. Email us at info@roxmeat.com

Are your products free range?

The short answer is yes. Our meat is not your usual fare: from field to fork, everything has been crafted to ensure that you’ll be getting the very best products that money can buy. The heritage breeds that we offer are native to the British Isles and thrive by grazing in luscious pastures in the north of England, left to grow at their own pace. This is evident in the depth of flavour of the meat.

Do your products contain nitrates?

We are currently working on finding an alternative to nitrates, which are used in the lion’s share of today’s bacon curing processes. They are used to preserve the product. All ingredients can be found on the website by clicking on the "Product Ingredients and Allergens" tab on each web page. We will, of course, ensure our customers are updated on this development process.

I have a gift card/voucher, but it is not working.

If you are trying to enter a gift code and it doesn’t work, we recommend, as the first port of call, that you refresh the web page. If this still doesn’t work, then please do contact Customer Care on 020 8855 5757 and we will be happy to help.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Our crafted Butchery is cut to order. Within mainland UK, the earliest arrival times are as follows:

Orders Placed Monday, Arrive on Wednesday
Orders Placed Tuesday, Arrive on Thursday
Orders Placed Wednesday, Arrive on Friday
Orders Placed Thursday, Arrive on Saturday

Orders Placed Friday, Arrive on Monday

We are closed on Saturdays, therefore all orders placed on Saturday and Sunday will be processed on Monday. Otherwise, we guarantee delivery within 72 hours and this includes the Highlands and Islands.

Where do you source your meat from?

All our produce is sourced from across the UK, Scotland and the Netherland using the finest artisan farmers specializing in heritage breeds. These animals are reared on lush pasturelands and enjoy a high level of animal husbandry.

Are your chickens, free-range?

Our whole chickens are from Loose Birds and have a completely free-range existence on a farm at the edge of the North York Moors. Individual cuts come from herb fed birds, who as well as being free-range, enjoy a diet of various herbs which adds to their delicious taste.

Are your products gluten-free?

All our fresh meat produce is Gluten-free. Our oven-ready products, such as sausages, burgers and meatballs do not currently qualify as Gluten-free. They are produced in a kitchen area where ingredients containing gluten are present, stored and handled, and are processed using the same equipment. Although we do adhere to a production schedule and clean equipment between the production of different recipes, we cannot eliminate the possibility that products may contain traces of gluten. Therefore, we are unable to declare any of our chef-prepared products as gluten-free, even if they do not include an ingredient that contains gluten.

How do you deliver?

We currently use DPD and our delivery drivers as our delivery courier. Your delivery will arrive in an insulated box, does not have to be signed for and will keep cool for up to 72 hours unopened. During the ordering process you will be asked to provide delivery instructions for the driver to deliver your order should you not be home to accept it.

How many ribs are there in the forerib?

We work on the general basis of 1 rib to 1kg, so, for example, a 3.2kg joint will contain 3 bones, but sometimes 4, depending on the size of the animal.

What is the difference between the tomahawk steak and côte de boeuf?

Our Tomahawk Steaks have a longer bone than the Côte De Boeuf.

Are your deliveries carbon neutral?

All of our deliveries to you are carbon neutral. DPD's 'Driving Change' is helping reduce emissions year-on-year by investing in hundreds of EV vehicles each year to decarbonize their fleet, as well as investing in Smart Urban Delivery and Innovative Entrepreneurship strategies. To offset remaining emissions, DPD finance renewable and cleaner energy production projects by purchasing carbon credits.

Do you offer next day delivery?

We offer Next Day Delivery on orders placed before 1 pm between Sunday - Friday for delivery on Monday - Saturday. For Next Day Delivery, we charge £7.50. Please note: Next Day Delivery orders cannot be amended or cancelled once placed. Unfortunately, we cannot offer Next Day Delivery to the Highlands & Islands. Due to demand, there may be occasions where our cut off time changes. Next Day Delivery costs may vary on Saturdays and at Peak Times such as Christmas and Easter.

Can I return my packaging for reuse?

Unfortunately, we do not have the resources and facilities to recycled packages yet.
